Day 17, June 14, 2005
I’m on the brink of entering Yellowstone National Park. Yellowstone is a wild place. So this seems like a good time to reflect on the scenery I have ridden through.
Over the Coastal Range in Oregon, over the Cascades, through the high desert of Oregon – not boring at all – across the Snake River Valley, up the west side of the Tetons, with so many sights, animals, people, and experiences along the way.
My mom and dad sent me a quote from the start of “Eleven Addresses to the Lord” by John Berryman:
Master of beauty, craftsman of the snowflake,
inimitable contriver,
endower of Earth so gorgeous & different from the boring Moon,
thank you for such as it is my gift.
